tjwaggoner
They run warm but I'd still get a heater for it. Link to comment
Hig789
Yep I'd recommend getting a heater too not might not ever come on but it will be worth it if you need it. How big is the spin stream in the tank? In the pictures I have seen they look really big. I don't run a loc line or anything on my return bulkhead, I bought a bigger pump and like the wide flow and cleanness of the back wall. Link to comment
mcb6715
I haven't put the tank together yet so I don't know how big the spin stream is inside the tank. I will be putting it together on my daughters birthday sept 11. I will post pictures and let you know. sorry for the delay. Link to comment
SquishyFishy
You really do have to have a heater, but the biggest challenge I've found with mine is keeping it cool enough, and I have a retro Dave's Nano Box. My final solution is mounting a small Wally World fan above the tank that I keep on 24/7 in the summer. Just having the breeze blow over the hood keeps my tank below 80. It normally runs around 78.5 to 79 doing that. And because the doors are shut water doesn't evaporate as much. Your MP10 should be very sufficient. Wished I had one! I have Hydor Koralia...need a little more current. But the 29 is nice to look at...they should enjoy it. Link to comment
HarryPotter
Wow that's a CRAZY equipment list! Amazing lol Might want to consider just getting a chiller rather than the fan since your budget does not seem to be an issue Link to comment
Hig789
You might also want to check out the NanoBox retros. I was torn between Steves and NanoBox and I ended up going with the NanoBox small. I couldn't be happier with mine. Plus they are a sponsor on here and Dave is very helpful. Link to comment
mcb6715
Thank you everyone for responding. I am hoping I won't need a heater or chiller. The AC is set to 76 year round, I live in south Florida. My thoughts were to wait and see how it goes when I set it up and if I would need either of the two. I know I kind of went over board with the equipment but my hope is that it will help keep my daughters interest in the hobby as they get older. I am excited and can't wait to set it up. I have been buying piece by piece for the last year and I can't wait. I will post pictures when I start to set it up. Link to comment

mcb6715
I have no idea what the total was. I purchased everything 1 piece at a time over the last year. It was more than I was wanting to spend that I know. Link to comment

bevo5
Just missing the apex. Turns everything into a self sufficient little box of ocean. Once you have that you can control all sorts of fun things. And add on your Ato. Or rio the top the off and hang a radion or pendant over the top. That's a slick look and helps keep it cool. I have basically the exact same set up as you're making and it's fun. Enjoy it! Link to comment
mcb6715
I will post pictures when set up in September. It is a birthday present for my 2 daughters. Link to comment
