Found this growing off the bottom of a frag plug.

Is it segmented or seems like one long thing?

I'm thinking sponge or possibly an egg case

It acts like a polyp of some sort. Stretches long and stringy. The picture doesn't show it will but the string is covered in little arms with bulbs at the end.

Turns out after reading other threads in other places I've now identified them as digitate hydroids based on pictures. I scraped them off the frag plug, we'll see if that's all of them.
