Mr Aqua 22 Gallon Long Standard vs Low Iron Glass

So this new tank caught my eyes. This look like my next upgrade for sure.

 

The question is there a huge difference in clarity? does it worth the extra $120?

 

I believe the 12 gallon long tank I bought last year was Low Iron until they made two versions in 2015, now the low iron is more expensive.

Low iron IMO is better but they want too much for the upgrade IMO, but I do have there 6 gallon and11.1 and looks like nicer/clearer glass than most tanks, even though both were regular glass.

Yeah I was like wth? I got my 12gal long on sale for $65 + shipping. Waiting for coupon ...but im leaning toward the regular glass, even $170 is too much I think.

 

I'm wondering if anyone here do custom tank for lower cost? Might talk to my lfs about this.

Usually anything custom is going to be more.

Id talk to your LFS, I'm thinking about having mine order a Visio 30L or 20L I've seen the show tanks in person and they are some nice tanks $55 for the 30L can't beat that rimless and drilled

I have the new 12 long low iron that is like $135, I personally would say it's worth it. Love how clean it is. Then agin, it entirely depends on your budget, the look you're after, etc. I splurged and bought 2 sets of Lily pipes rather than drilling, but I had a different end goal as well.

Really? when did you purchased it? I think my 12g is low iron when that's the only version they were selling back in early 2014. Can you take a photo of the edge so I can verify? either that or this is a high quality regular glass tank. Does it look light blue?

hmm...is it just me or that looks light green to me? I hope they didn't sent you the wrong one.

 

Here is mine, so obvious and it's not the light. I think i have low iron, I've always amazed this tank looks like HD clarity after I cleaned the glass compare to my freshwater 75gal petco tank.

The last picture I posted is the closest, part of that is the room lighting though and the iPhone quality. This isn't really helpful, but you can see how clear the glass is on that corner, standard glass wouldn't be nearly that clear.
