He is not in CA :-); I saw his post in some other forum regarding his location before.

Location? I have a 1/10 Aqua Euro FS. PM me.

Thx.

Just putting it out there:

A small hang on fan can bring the temperature down 5+ degrees in the NanoCube 28. I reccomend the JBJ C-Breeze, and personally used it to bring the tank from 83 to 77 during the day.

Cheaper solution, doesn't need the fancy chiller (PITA), nor adds another pump to the system.

If the house is air condition....meaning the room temp is not above 82 and it is not so much humid in the house....Fan is not much help unless the air is dry.

I was able to keep the JBJ-28 under 79 while the house is above 82 degree for a few days, but at that time the weather was helping and we opened the doors and windows as much as we could.

I use a strong fan blowing air from the feeding door to the back. Does not look clean but it did the job :-)

Doesn't work like that- even is ambient is 85 and the tank is 87, you can lower it to 82 with the fan. A fan strips away heat using evaporation, not by exchanging with ambient air.

The temp drop is from water evaporation. Therefore, when the air is very humid, the water does not evaporate much, so dropping temp using fans is not working in this case. I am just saying from limited knowledge of my college education and personal experience as a reefer who had a jbj 28 Gal for 2 summers located in southern California. I am OK with being corrected by proper explanation. I am learning everyday so I can be wrong sometime.

No problem :)

I have to say that my personal experience is quite different- with ambient 80is and a JBJ c breeze pointed right towards the water, it gets to 77ish.

You can try this:

Get a bowl of water and point a string fan right at it. It'll get below ambient

I don't mean to come across as argumentative or rude- sorry if I did! I am just speaking from my personal expierience with the JBJ 28 in the hot state of Florida!

Florida, meaning it's humid as hell there! I don't miss Miami at all!
