Mounting LED drivers to Makers Heatsink

Hey all,

I've been over paying for my drivers and recently I decided to listen to common sense and try out some inexpensive Meanwell LDD drivers instead of my usual go to driver. But before I purchase any I wanted to know the best way to mount these drivers on a Makers LED Heatsink while still giving a clean look to the fixture? So let me know your guys ideas on mounting them or please shoot me a link to a build that someone has done previously that accomplished a clean way to mount these drivers to the Makers Heatsink. Lastly, I am aware that ledgroupbuy offers a makers driver that is both clean and professionial looking but it defeats the purpose of me choosing a cheaper driver since it is priced at $43.00. They sure are nice looking drivers though.

Thank you in advance,

Kyle S.

Do you already have a controller? LEDgroupbuy will be selling an LDD board with a Built-in Bluefish Mini that will slide into the underside of the Makers heatsink. O2Surplus on Reefcentral also makes and sells a board that the Mini mounts directly to and has six spots for LDD and two for SCW converters that power fans (that are controlled by the Mini) and the Mini itself, and this board will fit into the top of the Makers heatsink.

I have not yet boughten a controller and I was actually looking at buying a bluefish off steve's leds. That sounds like what I am looking for. By the underside of the makers heatsink do you mean where all the LED's are mounted? My only concern is how much space will this take up. I have a 48" tank and plan to use a 36" heatsink since that will fit inside my canopy and I don't want to sacrifice space for the LED's on the edge of the fixture since I have an SPS tank and am already taking a par hit on the edges of the tank from using a shorter heatsink. When does LEDgroupbuy plan to release this bluefish mini board?

Thanks for the info again, I'm going to go check out what you mentioned above.

Lastly, I sent you a PM master ben regarding my build. Hopefully its not to much of an inconvenience for you to weigh in on what I messaged you.

The full Bluefish really isn't necessary - the Mini will do what it can at half the price.

I didn't actually see your PM, I'll check it :)

When?

At some point. Probably going to ditch the fan connector and use a terminal block, it doesn't really fit well with the splash shield apparently.
