To much flow?

Is 720 gallons per hour too much flow for a 29 gallon bio cube. A cobalt mj1200 return pump and a hydor 425 power head. How should I have the power head arranged?

By 720 gallons per hour do you mean those 2 pumps combined?

It all depends on what your tank inhabitants are. For a fish only tank that's plenty, but for a coral tank you'll want a bit more, at least another koralia 425 - even a 600 would probably be better if you're going with koralias. You'll want even more if you're into corals with higher flow requirements like many SPS.

The maxi-jet return pump might also need to be increased depending on how much head loss you'll have.

For what it's worth I used two jaebo wp10 pumps and a koralia 425 in my biocube 29 and felt it was enough but not anywhere near too much. Both wp10 were ran on "else" or the highest wave setting. I had a lot of rock in that tank though so that makes a fairly big difference in flow needed.

So to answer your question: in my opinion that's not near enough flow if you're keeping corals and have much in the way of rock in the tank.
