HarryPotter
Wow- off to a great start! Awesome equipment choices, you've done your homework well! Bare Bottom + ReefCleaners (My favorite btw) will probably need something to get the cycle going. Do you have any small piece of LR or something to get the bacteria going? Edit: And where are the fabulous Vortechs? How large is your RO/DI reservoir? Are you using the reactor yet? What schedule is the AI PRIME on? Edit Edit: Oh and how are the return pumps! Think you'll need to upgrade them or not? I guess since you have all that flow you only use them for filteration... Edit Edit Edit: TEMPREATURE! Are you going to need a Chiller? Most tanks (especially nano) tend to run small I hope I don't scare you with all these questions! Sorry! Link to comment

Thank you, sir! - I've got two other tanks going that I'm going to swipe a little live rock from. - vortechs are sitting in the boxes, just waiting on the water. - 7g RODI res. Sits behind the wall, behind the tank. - It's one return pump, and while I only had it up and running during leak test, it seems more then adequate. - Temp should not be an issue, all tanks are on the bottom 3 floors ( finished basement ) and the ambient temp runs 67/68 in the summer and 65ish in the winter. Tkimber
Sorry, forgot the primes. Been playing around and have them setup for a 9 hour schedule at the moment. On at 3pm and off at 12:00am. 1.5 ramp up/down and moonlights on 2 hours before and after sunset. Link to comment

Any chance we could be honored with pictures of the two other tanks? Wouldn't go that far....lol. I study a lot and try to do things right the first go around as it's usually cheaper in the long run. Don't have the laptop up with the decent pics on it, but you can have some crappy cell pics. 12g cube, up and running two years. It's basically a YWG/Pistol tank with my 4 year old clown (got him from a friend) to keep them company. The clown will be moved over to the new 30l. 5g spec, up and running 2 years. Link to comment
Tkimber
Well, I'm on day 15 of my cycle and thought I would update. After day 4 of cycle: ammonia 2ppm Nitrites 0 Nitrates 0 After day 9 of cycle: ammonia 2ppm Nitrites 0 Nitrates 0 After day 10 of cycle: ammonia 4ppm Nitrites 2ppm Nitrates 0 After day 14 of cycle: ammonia 2ppm Nitrites 5ppm Nitrates 0 So far, so good! While waiting i finished installing a ups for cable modem/router, ups for the apex base unit and the ecotech battery backup for one of the vortechs. I've also took some time to learn a little more code for the apex and get everything chugging the way I want it. At this point, all I have left to install is the 9001 skimmer, figured I'd wait until my cycle is finished to do so. Link to comment

I sanded it down, stained and sealed it. Link to comment
Tkimber
Been awhile, but she's still up and running and doing great. Only thing I've changed up was removing the skimmer, and so far I've seen no problems by doing so. Coraline has exploded and all coral seem to be doing great (and growing) under the two AI primes. After having tanks with sand , and this one BB, I can honestly say I'll never get sand anywhere close to any of my reef tanks again. Link to comment
neowind712
But sand is awesome! Looking good man. So jealous of the coralline growth you got going on. Hopefully mine will come in soon. Link to comment
