I SOLD 2 MP10SW...LITERALLY 6 MONTHS OLD TO BUY THIS NEW GYRE FOR MY NEW 3/4" THICK ACRYLIC TANK...

 

4 WEEKS OF USE RENDERED IT USELESS...CORALVUE HAD TO SEND ME NEW BUSHINGs WHICH ONLY LASTED A WEEK.

 

THE PLASTIC HOLDING THE FLOW CAGES ON IS WARPING. THIS THIS IS NOT OF QUALITY. COMING FROM A VORTECH TO THIS...NO COMPARASON.

 

TO TOP IT OFF MARINE DEPOT EXPRESS 60 DAY RETURNS BUT THEY WONT RETURN IT. THEY SAY ALL WARRANTY HAS TO GO THROUGH CORALVUE...SO WHY ADVERTIZE IT?!

 

BEWARE!!

You aren't returning an unused or lightly used item you don't like. You are trying to return an item that broke during use. Get it warrantied and sell it. Call it a day.

Putting things in all caps doesn't get your point across any better... Just saying. there are 1000's of people on here who highly regard Marine Depot.Me being one of them, i've never had a problem. Sounds like you have an issue with the Gyre, go to the company that made the gyre. not the reseller. Why would Marine Depot be at fault it doesn't work? Do you honestly expect them to test every piece of equipment. Things go bad, it happens. Deal with it. Do the proper thing, go to CoralVue. And as a suggestion, don't sound like a blithering idiot when you reach out to them. Not the right way to get your stuff replaced...

How to Return an ItemIf you would like to return an item, you must first request a Return Merchandise Authorization number (RMA) within 60 days of the date your order was shipped.

 

Returned items must be sent back to us in new and unused condition in the original packaging along with all accessories, warranty cards, manuals, software, cables, etc.

I completely agree with your statement. MD is just the seller and not the manufacturer.

Didn't we just have this thread but with BRS as the retailer? Pretty sure we did.

 

Same response applies. Broken product goes through distributors or manufactures for warranty NOT retailers.

I've bought and spent so much money at marine depot, I think that gives me every right to express how I feel.

Express how you feel all you want but they have a very clear posting that they only take back new and unused equipment. Where broken things are concerned you go to the manufacturer. That's just how it is.

Same. I had a defective vortex have controller- the knob fell right off.

 

I called ECOTECH, not BRS, and they fixed it super fast!

Just because you buy stuff from them doesn't mean they have to go out of their way for you. A ton of people buy from them every day they post their policies for everyone to see so try going to the manufacturer and see if they can handle it.

The amount of time you spent posting the same 2 posts in different subforums here on NR (who knows which other forums, too) would have been better spent sending Coralvue an email about your problems.

 

Handle your business like an adult and contact those who are involved and can ACTUALLY help, rather than acting like a spoiled preteen and coming to a forum to complain.

Just wanted to chime in and say you should call or email CoralVue. It's not MD's issue, and Coralvue was easy to deal with, ime. About a year ago, I dropped & broke my Reef Octopus skimmer cap (d'oh!), so I ordered a replacement. They called me the next day to let me know they could either ship the one I ordered (black lid) in a few days, or they could immediately ship the exact same cap with a red lid. Thought that was pretty cool of them.

1. As soon as you get a new piece of equipmet, register it, otherwise you're dead in the water when/if it breaks

2.1 phone call on a 1 month old piece of equipment to the manuf. would yield a brand new one at your door, proably in 2-3 days( assuming you registered it, and probably even if you didn't)

3. People are giving you advice on how NOT to look like a jag-off, MD has a few people on this forum......don't burn bridges

4. Hope you get it all worked out! I love my Gyre 130 now that I figured out how to get it dialed in for my needs!

I'm kind of glad they told you to get bent! You were probably all doooshmode, and harshing thier mellow all up on an otherwise Thursday morning and then you come here to cry some moar! End of rant! Rant over! Omgwtfyfidmfssob!
