:welcome: Some info on why I bought this tank.....

I needed a tank that was ready to go when I needed to move out. I had this tank ordered from cad lights. This tank is 68 gallons roughly 36x20x22, with a 30 gallon sump. I had taken down most of my tanks once I knew I'd be moving. I had a tank crash and lost many of my Zoas and palys during the whole process of moving I got to neglecting the tanks. I now have just the 68 and 6 gallon mr Aqua.

I purchased real live rock from Florida. I knew I was taking a chance on what might hitchhike a ride into the aquarium. I removed two mantis shrimps, a questionable crab and am fighting to rid the tank of the aptasia! I hate aptasia which is why I've always went with dry rock. I am making head way on ridding the tank of them. On a good note lots of cool critters came in too.

Onto the tank and equipment ?

Tank is waiting to get my coral in place and glued down as well as some more rock work changes. I have some pics here of the tank and other stuff. New legendary coral order coming in next week. Apex getting hooked up tomorrow, time to get rid of the DJ power strips and all the mess of cords.

Here's my retro lighting! Corals loving it!

Thanks! The speed wave is great I've owned it 3? Years without issue. It is making a little noise now but I've been lazy cleaning it.

The retro is from aquatic life. The clips that came with the kit had to be adjusted by drilling a bigger hole and then screw into the middle of the fins or heat sink section. I can get some better pics later. I don't think it pushes the bulbs to much or maybe the heatsinkvsnd fans keep everything cool to the touch....semi cool on T5's

Tank is a month old! I'm going through dome diatoms from new sand, and a little ont he rocks. I just blow it off with the baster. While the tank is still in its early stages I might change the rocks out for something way cool! Secret right now. I did my first water change and cleans up the sump and all the reactors etc.

I was finally able to get the apex up and running! I wanted to throw it against the wall for a long ass time. Loving the apex fusion, so simple. There are a few more modules I want and some more in depth coding. Things are good for now. I'll post a couple pics. I should have a legendary coral box o goodies coming Tuesday or Wednesday .

899.00 for tank, stand, and sump. The tank also came with regular plumbing now, no more weird plumbing diameters. Oh, and glass tops, I don't use them because I use auto feeder.

I like it. I really need a few more weeks to see how dark of skim mate I can get. I had one before this but the area where the cup and body meet was leaking. it didn't seem to affect performance, but i never got to the brown skim stage. it did do good considering it was only two weeks old and had a seal issue. I think I will be happy though. This one has a super awesome cup and body tight connection. The DC pump really allows you to have control along with the outake. I am only running in 6" of water an 3/4 power on the controller. It has the jeabo 1200 pump. A member in my local reef club has the 300 and loves it. I would say go for it. I almost got the Reef Octo with the DC pump, but that was nearly $4 bills. BTY cannot wait to see what you have in store.......sorry for the long winded answer. lol

No I'll be trying with the sps again. I have about three pieces of sps, and a wide variety of Lps frags.....and of course can't stop buying the polyps. Hopefully I'll be ordering a cool new rock structure this coming month. I want to do the change before the tank starts maturing, rather than make more problems doing it later. I'll try and post up some pics tomorrow of the new coral I got. Oh and thanks. Sorry I haven't stopped by your thread for a bit....I'll try to make a better effort?

Nice man !!! That's what I like to hear !!!! Hahaha me either,I've been trying to get into the zoa's game again. I was into sps hardcore for awhile. I'm in the works of setting up a 5g tank for just sps and have my 7g with all zoa's and acan's. Nice man, that's what's up. You've always got some killer scapes and set up's this will be insane.

Wait my thread ?!

lilmatty5dimes. I lost a lot of zoas in crash. I still have over 100 frags.....and counting. No problem on the video. My local reefer buddy has the 300 and loves it.

Started making my dosing containers. Ripped off the idea from BRS. I bought only a single rigid tubing, only to fine out that the one I had to do one of the containers was to skinny. I'll have to order a couple more to finish it correctly. Basically it's 3/4" bulkhead for RO tubing, and two oxo glass containers. Now that it's the size of airline and dosing hose, I'm not sure how to connect from rigid to soft for pump connection....::should be able to figure out something.
