what to use as bracket with diy t5.

So I have a pair of hydra and decided that I want an single t5 to supplement the leds. The thing is that I don't have a canopy so I can't install it into the lid. Can anyone tell me what I need to get to use as a bracket so that the led can sit on my tank?

I'd leave the Hydra's where they are and mount the T5 tube to them rather than the other way around. Mounting the LEDs closer to the water will reduce spread and increase any disco effect (color shadowing) you may have.

I have seen wood ,pvc and even starboard as t5 cover.

You can make lighting rigs out of 3/4" PVC plumbers overflow pipe.
