White scuff marks?

So my new Kole Tang has been doing well in QT. He's been there for 3 weeks. He's finally getting okay with people walking around the tank and not darting instantly away. (I used to have to sit down on the couch or something, anything with in 6 feet of the tank was a no-go) I did not notice until today but he has what look likes white scuff marks. There are no spots, it's not fuzzy at all, just like white-ish patches on the second half of his body. Like when you use hand chalk or something (but not powdery, just looks like discolored skin)

Some googling mentioned that they could be stress patches, but I would think he'd still hide if he was that concerned. Everything else looks normal, all other QT fish have normal coloration. No odd behavior, no labored breathing, nothing out of the ordinary. It's only really noticeable under white lights.

I would take photos, but like I said, he's only in the last couple of days been out when people are close to the tank.

Thoughts?

Edit: I should also mention that there looks like scratch marks on his body (like if you scrap yourself on a rock and you're skins powdery from dirt, but you can see the scratches) But I haven't seen him scratching. He has recently been exploring the "smaller" entryways of the QT castle (I have a giant castle for them to be in instead of pvc). Maybe he wiggled through and scratched himself? I did see him swim through one entry way that I would think was entirely too small.

Hmm, could very well be stress marks - at least not sure what else it could be assuming the fish is otherwise healthy... Are you noticing the lighter patches after the fish has been hiding in a dark place? If so I wouldn't be too concerned because I notice that sometimes my fish have inconsistent or lighter coloration after being in a dark spot for a while.

Pics might help!

Anyways, I would also be concerned with the scratches - if they're that obvious I would keep a very close eye on things and if you notice it getting worse treat with a broad spectrum antibiotic, or possibly even some melafix first.

The scratches aren't super obvious. I was standing super close to the tank for like 10 minutes pretending to blend in to get a better look. Lol. This morning all the patches were almost gone and then now they are worse then before. He still won't let me get a photo. I will try to get one up. The tank is being dosed with Paraguard right now for ich. This is the last week. I have heard its common for ich to show up one more time during treatment with paraguard before being erradicated. Maybe this is the second wave and he is scratching off all the spots?

If he is still showing spots by the end of the last week of meds, I might do cupramine just to be safe since they are in qt for another 3 weeks.

Well he is now laying on his side. Same time frame different tank as the last tang. If this one dies, I don't think I will be buying tangs from that LFS anymore. Maybe their supplier does some rough handling. :( what I really don't understand is this is occuring in a different system then the first tang. So i know its not the water quality. It has to be either the LFS or the supplier. If I get a 3rd tang from a different LFS and it dies then I will believe its me. But at this point, I am utterly baffled.

My rabbitfish was in her fright colors and she has white spots all over her. They are bigger then ich spots, marine velvet maybe? It looks as if she has spots of flour all over her. As a precaution, i am stopping treatment with paraguard and starting copper tomorrow.
