Cencalfishguy56
Hey guys, I'll be starting a new tank soon and would love some input on the best cured dry rock out there? I want to basically not worry about it leaching phosphates! Link to comment
cromag27
Cerameco vida rock. it's ceramic, handmade rock but you can put it right in your tank. Link to comment
HarryPotter
Without a doubt ReefCleaners. It's 100% cured, beautiful, natural, and only $2 a pound! Link to comment
jolee0722
I persinally like pukani rock because of the amazing structures that they come in that seem perfect for a reef tank. They look amazing and are pretty different from other rocks. That being said it may be hard to cycle because of its porosity so some people use acids to cure them. Also, many of the rocks are hard to find eays to stack but thag isn't much of a problem because they make great stand alone pieces and are really easy to "mold" using a hammer and pick or a hacksaw. The rock is definitely worth the effort as it looks fantastic. Link to comment
waveland
I have Reef Cleaners too and love it. http://www.reefcleaners.org/ Lots of cool holes and interesting formations and really easy to stack. Link to comment

Steve973
I've used both reefcleaners dry rock and BRS reef saver rock with great results. They are both very clean and scape/interlock quite well. Just dip into some water to remove some dust and you're good to go. Link to comment
Steve973
REEFCLEANERSSSSS Are those cichlids in a tank with dry rock and aragonite sand? What kind of havoc does that wreak on the pH? Link to comment
HarryPotter
Are those cichlids in a tank with dry rock and aragonite sand? What kind of havoc does that wreak on the pH? Haha who cares? They're Cichlids! I do 50/75% water changes once a month with the hose, and have never tested the water. Cichlids are tanks! Link to comment

HarryPotter
missed out on Pukani rock, hands down best rock for saltwater tank Have you actually compared them together? I ordered 50 lbs of each and considered the looks, volume, price, etc. plus BRS rock leaks phosphates in the test, while reefcleaners does not Link to comment

Pukani rock does leak phosphates IF you don't clean the rock appropriately before using it.... Other than that hiccup, Pukani is the most porous so it filters best imo. If you put 10lbs of Pukani next to 10lbs of reef saver you will have almost twice as much Pukani rock in turn not needing as much rock saving money. Pukani is also the easiest rock to shape for nicer looking scapes. Reefcleaner rock is good rock to use just giving my two cents on best rock. Link to comment
