Moving and combining

Here we go...I have a fluval edge and a nuvo 20. I am moving into a house we just purchased and am planning to combine these 2 tanks into the nuvo. I love the look of the edge but maintenance is a pain.

I'm looking for moving tips and suggestions.

My plan is to put all rock in a Rubbermaid with water. I am making a sort of frag rack in a 5 gallon bucket for my coral(most are on plugs). This bucket will consist of eggcrate cut to a size in which it will wedge in the bucket. I will put a heater and small pump under the eggcrate.

I have black sand in the nuvo and hate it. I figure now would be the best time to switch it out. Good idea?

I also hate my scape. I knew I was going to be moving so I didn't go crazy with it but would like to now. Bad idea? I will be breaking my current live rock and epoxing.

It all seems like too much change but also seems like the best time to do it.

It's the perfect time to replace your sand, and even re-aquascape. However, I'm skeptical about breaking and epoxying your live rock. The time required (along with the other tasks might make it difficult). In addition, with it being wet, it might not hold well (and you don't want it to dry out either).
