replacing 3 stage filter with poly-filter and a bag of purigen

Hi guys, I got rid of my 3 stage caddy in my im 10g nano and replaced it with a square cut out of poly-filter wedged into the first chamber and a bag of purigen underneath it. I am also running a skimmer in the second chamber.

 

What do you guys usually use in your first chamber?

 

has anyone done something similar?

When I ran the I'm 10fusion, I ran floss on top, purigen ( I cut and made small packets , and chemi pure elite ( same made small bags to fit the media rack) them the skimmer in second chamber, then the I'm reactor next the the return for gfo.
