started with 40 lbs live rock, I have also always liked deep sand beds, think it is around 2-2.5" deep, some of the sand was collected by wife and I when we went to Bora Bora a few weeks ago

Tried taking a couple pics, could not figure out how to get the size small enough to post

Hi! You need to make a PhotoBucket account and then paste the direct link here to get a HQ picture!

drag the images from your source to your desktop, open microsoft paint, open the image you want to resize; Click on "Resize" click on the tab "Pixels" set the longer (Horizontal/vertical) side to 600 the other one should auto populate 450, click "ok" then Select "Save" you now have a great size picture that loads very quickly.

I gotta say this is one of the most annoying aspects of nano reef. I don't post on a ton of different forums but the ones I do, I've never had to jump through so many hoops to post a picture. Especially for such a visually oriented hobby, you'd think you could attach a picture and it would upload. Just my rant, sorry for the high jack but I just started a 45gallon tank too so that's what brought me to this thread.

It's because this is a visually orientated hobby that you can't upload large pictures. Can you imagine how big of a server would be required to host all these photos?

The forum is primarily designed to link photos from other sites (like Photobucket). Just create an account on a photo hosting site and link the photo's URL. However, Nano-Reef also provides the ability to upload some smaller photos if you wish. You'll just have to resize them to a reasonable resolution (like 640 x480). Almost any photo editor will allow you to resize pics.

Yes I realize they can't host all the large files. What I was saying is that it would much more user friendly if it automatically resized pics

I upload to photobucket, copy the IMG link, then paste into post. That's it. Takes less time than it did for me to write this.
