A simple solution would be to purchase a small low output led think automotive section lights and velcro to the goosneck. Unless your light can dim low enough. I never owned a kessil so my knowledge is limited.

This is exactly what I did, it will cost you less than 10 bucks. I used double sided tape to mount them onto the side of my kessil

I used to use a single moonlight LED, attached a good brand velcro on one side and attached it to the unit lol

Advance auto or autozone should have a spotlight type led light in the pimp your ride section. Some of them are damn small and not even noticeable when mounted, and a few are aim able.

I still can't believe they haven't put a moonlight in yet.

Moon lights, from what I have read, have no real benefits to a reef tank. They are just for us to play with. I love my kessil A160we and I do have a minitide with the moonlight channel that turns on only when the moon is out in Fiji. Do I miss this function in my other tank? Not really. I'm almost certain that Kessil will come up with something in the future. For now I'll just enjoy how beautiful my corals look under my Kessil.

What are you using to control your kessil ? Right now I dont have anything to control my kessil. Its just attached to a timer.

When I was running my retro kit from Rapid LED, I had to get a VDM module for my Apex Jr so that I could control the dimmable drivers. And it's the same module that you can also use to connect Kessil lights(the controllable ones). So I just had to get the special Kessil cable in order to control it with my Apex Jr. I used the video from BRS to do the programming and now it's working great! But you can also get the spectral controller, which works great for about $100 and I always see people unloading them for $80 or less.

Don't get too cut up into the "moonlight" thing. Like I said before, it's just a gimmick that we like to play with.

Gotcha! Thanks en28so.

No problem. I just saw a spectral controller at R2R for $70 shipped.

I have the ultimate solution for moonlight w. Kessil:

Option 1: Open the blinds

Option 2: Open the windows

Option 3: Get a night light in your room

Option 4: All the serious and (very good) suggestions above

I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself from posting that :)

I have a kessil 360we and I'm looking for a moonlight option..

Does anyone have any suggestion ?

Here is what I used. I just installed it right on the gooseneck, since it(the gooseneck) is sticking straight out thanks to the 90 degree adapter. I'm using a Kessil A160we, but the goosenecks are comparable:

did someone try to dimm kessil using PWM on its 0-10v input @ i.e. 2v and more than 200Hz ? ..may be it is still possible to go below 10% of intensity .. like CCR PWM combined ..
