hauksanger
I got a couple of frags with the LS and the water, and I've identified the Xenia and some kind of toadstool thing, but I still have no clue about the other ones. Please help? Pretty please? Link to comment
enderturtle
The bottom left picture is of some brown/green palythoa aka paly The bottom right picture is of Green Star Polyp. But it looks dead since the polyps aren't out. Both are entry level corals usually pretty easy to keep. Link to comment
hauksanger
Is there anything I can do to help the green star polyp? I really wanted one, didn't even know this was it... It hasn't opened in two days, and I'm really not sure of what I can do to make it feel any better :/ Link to comment
jamescstein
flip the gsp over. You have it upside down Link to comment
hauksanger
It kinda looks the same on all sides. Which side is up on this thing? Link to comment
jamescstein
usually on gsp the lighter side is the *up* side. Also they are encrusting so they don't tend to curl upwards but down/inwards so any place you have cupping or curling the curl/cup would go down. They can be finicky sometimes until they get established. I ordered some that died and never open. I just bought a cutting from my LFS over the weekend and cut it into 4 pieces. 2 of them haven't opened at all and I saw the larger sheet all opened and saw it get cut. The top right looks like a leather or a cauliflower coral. Top right is def a leather of some sort. Link to comment
hauksanger
The top ones are the same coral from different angles. The gsp looks and feels kinda like a dried out chanterelle, it's hard to believe that there can be any polyps in there... Well, I'll let it be for a while, hope it recovers. Thanks for the tip Link to comment
Spenseriana
Mine didn't extend polyps for a bit, but then took off. Just glue it on where you want it. Like wall paper. Link to comment
hauksanger
Eh, it just didn't make it. Guess I get to be the person whose GSP died Link to comment
jamescstein
I bought some GSP from Auqa SD and it never opened and just melted away. So you aren't alone. Link to comment
Spenseriana
A lot of reefers wish their GSP would die. Link to comment
