partyboizz01
Had this pump since last year some time...since last month It's been making this loud noise which I can't stand, so my question is What's the best to next return pump can I buy for the tank. Link to comment
seabass
Try running the pump in a bucket with vinegar solution. Then take it apart and brush it off with a toothbrush. Rinse it all in tap water and reassemble. It might just take care of your problem. Link to comment
Mariaface
If a super deep clean doesn't fix the problem, and you don't think it's worth repairing, look into pumps depending on the GPH you'd like. I have a Sycce Syncra Silent on mine and it's a beautiful, silent thing. After the first day of breaking in, of course. But you can more or less put any pump that'll fit in that back chamber, assuming you have the tubing for it. Link to comment

Mariaface
How long should I do this..can I do it while I'm changing the water since Eventing gonna be off If that lasts you about 20 minutes, sure? Whenever my return pumps decide 'nah screw this, I'm not gonna work well or at all', I take them apart (I mean totally apart, even the impeller assembly) and sit the pieces in vinegar. I last did it today, actually. The pump wouldn't turn on at all and it turns out the impeller pieces had wound up stuck together from calcium deposits. When I put the pump back in, I was shocked at how much better it ran. Link to comment
