NorthGaHillbilly
I've always been partial to marine depot. Link to comment
reefernanoman
I have dealt with both and the experience has been great on both sides. Link to comment
Acielot
I haven't had issues with either but depending on what I get I usually just go with whoever has the less expensive shipping rates. Link to comment
WhiteWulfe
No personal experience with either yet, but given that BRS has a flat 16% fee for Canadian orders to cover importation (instead of letting UPS decide how much brokerage to add on top of GST) I'm leaning more towards them when I start ordering supplies that aren't available through Canadian suppliers as easily (or when it is cheaper to order from the US) Link to comment
masterbuilder
Like asking if Fords are better than Chevys. Pick the one who has the best price or what you're looking for. Link to comment
TheKleinReef
I like both. My only minor complaint is that marine depot didn't send me a shirt when I ordered my ATI 6x39w sunpower. I'm not salty about it though. Link to comment

braaap
I buy from whichever site has the product cheapest. Both have great customer service. Link to comment
Tamberav
Both are great. I also use drfosterandsmith for salt. Link to comment
LebaneseDlight
I have to pay sales tax for MD. BRS doesn't. For things with MAP pricing, I usually go to Aquacave as they offer free shipping, reward bucks, no tax for me, and there's always a 10% coupon floating around the web. Link to comment
Nickbruh510
Marine depot for me in sf Bay Area , I always pick ground shipping and it always gets here in two days max lol #spolied Link to comment
xmas_one
I like BRS better, they seem to take a genuine interest in the hobby. MD seems to be more about advertising and whoring for Facebook "likes". Link to comment
NirvanaandTool
Both are great. I also use drfosterandsmith for salt. Yep same here. Most of the time I use BRS but when I need MD, they are always great. And DFS for cheap salt w/ free shipping! Link to comment
Bill Nye
Both have good customer service but I prefer BRS. 99 percent of my dry good orders come from them. I really like their "BRS" products and that puts them over the edge for me. Usually if I'm ordering I wait till I have a couple things I need to save on shipping and I'm always needing carbon or gfo so BRS it is. Link to comment
uwdanno
BRS is 5 miles from my house. I order online and pick up there. I get to talk to a lot of the people there regularly and they are all really great. There are TONS of tanks there for employees of all levels to learn the products. I've purchased from both, but will put in a plug for BRS based on seeing first hand how they operate +1 to BRS taking a genuine interest. Link to comment

CJJon
Both are great. I use MD for salt as they are one of the few places that have it (ESV). They ship faster as they are closer to me. I enjoy watching both sites videos, except that guy at BRS needs to cut that hair. It probably gets him laid, so I can understand it, but still. Link to comment
lkoechle
It depends on what I am ordering. For things like pumps and the apex, marine depot. For stuff like plumbing parts, carbon, gfo etc and my skimmer (vertex, marine depot doesn't carry vertex) then brs. So for things people see: Marine Depot. For the behind the scenes stuff: BRS Link to comment

LOL everytime I watch a BRS video I have to watch it twice. First time I am too focused on wondering why he won't cut his hair. Second time because I missed everything the first time. Link to comment
gus6464
I like BRS for their in house stuff like reactors, RO/DI, supplements, etc. Their in-house hardware is really well made and the pricing is really good. You can't beat their reactors on price. Link to comment
Emerald525
I like the group buys that you can do through brs. Not sure if this is something that marine depot does too. Link to comment
