NYfishies
Well after waiting a very long time for this it is finally coming out! https://forum.neptunesystems.com/showthread.php?10817-DDR-DOS-Dual-Reservoir-shipping-to-dealers-this-week No mention of the sensor being sold on its own yet. Aquacave has the DDR for pre-order. Albert told me I was the first to order. Link to comment
NYfishies
Hence the $200 price. I'd like to buy 2 more sensors for my ATO's. Not sure why they haven't mentioned a release for those yet. Link to comment
CJJon
Well, sure--fancy optical sensors at that. A magnetic float switch can be had for a few dollars that would do exactly the same thing and be more reliable over time. You would need a $40 break out box, but you could wire both sensors to it. NorthGaHillbilly
It has sensors built in so does a face, easy enough to look and see if a container is near empty Link to comment
NYfishies
You guys are forgetting that we are talking about Neptune Systems here. This is nothing more than elaborate water jug that I can connect to my Apex and have it show up as a graph on the computer. The reminder will be cool, but not essential for my tank to run. Not worth $200 for its practical use, but none of the Neptune products are priced that way. I will thoroughly enjoy the added monitoring this will give me - even though it is not needed. Nothing is cheap in this hobby anyway! Link to comment
Maximus831
I agree, I think it is overpriced. With that said, I will be ordering one asap, lol! Link to comment
braaap
Overpriced for sure but the technology is cool. It is a fun little feature to have. I'll never buy one but I've run full Apex units on 10 gallon tanks numerous times. haha. Link to comment
gus6464
I am always amazed at the stupid pricing Neptune gets away with. Their DOS system pricing in general is quite outrageous. How can they keep a straight face charging $300 for a two channel doser when $100 more can get you a GHL Profilux doser. Link to comment

You should have seen the abuse I took over that. The fanboys came out in full force. Link to comment
bpb
Everything neptune sells is outrageously priced for what it actually is. The glorified water jug hit the nail on the head. Why do you need sensors to tell you your 2 part is almost empty. Anyone who is away from their tank for long enough to allow an entire 2 part reservoir to go empty before they catch it, is likely not going to be keeping a big beautiful sps dominant tank. Just is a silly concept. Fixing a problem that doesnt even exist. 99% of us at the very least will GLANCE at our sump/equipment area once every day or two, just to make sure nothing funny is happening. Even with a busy schedule, every 48 hours, I have enough time to peek in the cabinet and just do a 2 second glance at fluid levels. Why on earth someone would pay $200, to have to log on and look at a digital pictoral representation instead of physically looking at the containers is beyond me. Only reason I can think of is some wealthy folks like to have everything match and be display quality. Like those who have visible sumps with all matching colored plumbing and what not. gus6464
Man you gotta be dosing a whole boatload of 2-part per day to need a sensor to tell you when the reservoir is running low. Link to comment
