It's a rock, it's a sponge, it's... a frogfish? (now with pictures!)

So I saw this little guy on live aquaria:

 

 

and against all of my logic I bought him...

 

so here's a build for the 10 gallon he's going into!

 

 

equipment:

1 x standard 10 gallon

1 x koralia 240

2 x aquaclear filters

1 x compact florescent lamp thing

 

 

Livestock:

1 x pygmy tuberculated frogfish/funny chicken nugget

1 x blue legged hermit

assorted nerite and cerith snails

 

Tank plans:

I'm going to focus on macroalgaes- with a few corals in there too.

I put in an order at gulf coast ecosystems for some macros and I should be getting that this week too Here!

nothing too interesting- I filled it last night and the sand had settled this morning. not set on the scape, this is just how i plopped the rocks in yesterday.

yeah I think he's adorable. I've always wanted an angler and this one was too adorable to pass up!

I went and picked up some live ghost shrimp. They had them in at the pet store in freshwater, but I acclimated them to salt and put them in a breeder box. I think they will do ok, at least they seem fine now.

 

I also got some frozen silversides and frozen krill, plus I ordered supplies to make a clear feeding stick.

so it's been ages since I've posted in here but I thought I'd include a little update!

 

The frogfish is still going strong and in fact he ate frozen food for the first time this week! I'm very excited that I can start getting him on healthier foods!
