Sun_Queen
I just bought a pygmy tuberculated anglerfish from the Diver's Den. I'm getting it wednesday. this is the little bugger (he's only 1 1/2 inches right now): anybody kept these guys before? any experience/tips? they seem to be pretty uncommon, but only get 3" so perfect for nano tanks (this one is going into a 10 gallon) 2 Quote Link to comment
NorthGaHillbilly
I REALLY wanted to buy that when I saw it on LA. Really glad its going to a N-R tank. I dont know a thing about them, but I'm following along! 1 Quote Link to comment
Sun_Queen
I'm sooo nervous about getting him (never had a fish that cost this much) but I HAD to have him when I saw him. Luckily my live rock for my 40 gallon is cured. I pulled a few pieces to put in the 10 gallon so it would be ready. I wonder if I should get a protein skimmer to help with the water quality? 1 Quote Link to comment

I expect youll be fine once you figgure out what he'll eat. Not sure how picky you can expect him to be, but I'd research other anglers, I expect alot of the info would transfer over 1 Quote Link to comment
Sun_Queen
I'm hoping that he'll eat frozen, but I'm going to go out and get some guppies (though I know those are not good for them) and some ghost shrimp just in case he's won't eat silversides/shrimp right away. Quote Link to comment

Id also grab some PE mysis, they are alot larger than other brands, but would still be whole food. I have no real reason to say this, but it seems to me that a whole food would be more likely to work than a piece of shrimp. Quote Link to comment
Sun_Queen
good idea. hopefully I can find it locally. I bet whole food would help too, that way it's more likely to recognize it. 1 Quote Link to comment

Sun_Queen
http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/213658-dwarf-angler/ yeah I've read that thread, I was mostly curious if anyone was keeping this particular kind. I'm guessing not many people have them as they seem uncommon. Quote Link to comment
cromag27
Not that common. but like all anglers, it will eat anything it can fit in its mouth. Quote Link to comment
