copper treatment question

Hello.... I have recently set up a hospital tank to treat an ich problem. I using a product which is a 50/50 mix of malachite green and something chloride. . Using this as prescribed on the label is it going to have any adverse effects on the fish? There is no carbon filtration in the QT so the level should maintain itself. I have been told 3 weeks is a long enough period for the parasite to die off in the reef tank,i am thinking 4 to be on the safe side. So the fish will be in the copper solution for this time.

Another question... I have a test kit for copper and had no color indication. Does anyone here know what the required level of copper is needed to kill off ich!
