emkovar
Hi All, Im in the process of putting together my first SW setup - A Fluval Spec V. ive done a lot of reading and most people using this set up have upgraded from the stock pump to the Marineland 606. Now my first problem is: I can't find one of these pumps..... The stock pump has a flow rate of 83g/hr. I have also purchased a hydor koralia 240 to increase flow. When I was at the LFS to buy more supplies I spoke with the head fish guy (who teaches all their beginner SW seminars and has worked there for 16ish years) and he assured me that this should be adequate turn-over for this setup. Im not convinced... Thoughts? Any suggestions for another pump with a higher flow rate? I tried the hydor pico - but any of the pumps with a higher flow rate then stock wouldn't fit and im not sure how I would modify them. In the mean time ill keep stalking the classifieds to find one of the 606s Link to comment
seabass
to N-R.com. Yeah, the 606 has been discontinued. The Koralia 240 (along with the stock pump) should provide you with adequate flow for a typical mixed reef. Link to comment
