RonLarimer
So while I was travelling for work the tank came down with a case of marine ick in early January. I lost all the fish and the tank had been fishless for 12-14 weeks. Since I couldn't do anything else with the tank I bought a small anemone (not a pretty one but I was impatient). I figured when I got new clowns they'd host it and it'd be cool. Now that it was time to repopulate the tank I got small clowns so they wouldn't hurt the anemone and the stupid things are starting to host my torch coral. Link to comment
Pickle010
Might not be the clowns that are stupid. 99% of the time the anemones that we keep are not the natural host of the clowns in the wild. If you have Occys or Percs the natural host anemone is the Heteractis Magnifica or Ritteri. Most people don't keep magnificas because of the size of them and the demanding needs of the nem to stay healthy. The nems require intense lighting and turbulent flow. As hard as it may be you will just need to be patient. They will find it eventually. Feeding them with a turkey baster near the nem may speed the process. Link to comment
arashsheikhpoor
Clowns host whatever they want... I have a bubbletip and the clowns still host my duncan coral. Link to comment
lkoechle
I have a BTA as well, my clowns are divorced. The male hosts one side of the overflow, my female hosts the other side. Link to comment
rone_kevin66
I had a clown that hosted my wave maker so go figure. They will do what they want. Just keep an eye on the torch because they can kill it. Link to comment
Tamberav
Took several months for my BTA to host my clowns. Link to comment
