bevo5
I've managed to do what I didn't want to do and have slightly overstocked my Biocube 29. I normally do a 5g water change once a week, but I've been thinking about upping that to 2x a week. Is there any real drawback to that? Obviously I'll be matching conditions. I guess - is a water change too disruptive to be done with such frequency? My nitrates creep up to slightly darker than 10parts and I want to make sure the SPS are happy. Link to comment
seabass
You can change water twice weekly if you wish. For SPS, make sure alkalinity stays stable (water changes might actually help with this). Besides nitrate, monitor phosphate too (you want to keep it between 0.01 and 0.03 ppm). Link to comment
Exodus
nm read that completely wrong, thought you were stating every 2 weeks not twice a week lol Link to comment
VW_TDI_02
Assuming your new water and the old water are the same temp, pH, salinity, etc. you can change the water as many times as you want. The big thing is that the new water matches the parameters of the old water. Link to comment
Neebles
There are studies that show that smaller, more frequent water changes are better for your tank, it helps keep the levels more stable. You are constantly introducing trace elements vs a large amount, letting them dwindle down, then introducing a large amount again... Link to comment
