The footprint is 3.2" x 5.9". The 5.9" length should be no problem. The 3.2" width may be a tight squeeze. We would recommend measuring your BioCube (middle chamber), just to make sure.

Let us know what you find out as I am sure many others are curious too.

What's the water depth it needs?

It should be 8", at least that was the recommended depth of the JNS version that this is a copy of.

Just ordered mine. I've been waiting for this skimmer since January!

8"-10". We are adding it to the product description now. Thank you for bringing that omission to our attention! :grouphug:

I have 11" to work with  . Would I have to buy a riser for the skimmer or would I still be able to use the skimmer in 11"? I have heard really good things about this skimmer and I really want to buy it.

you guys should make a video of this one running. would love to see it.

If MD doesnt get around to it, I will be writing up a full review within a couple weeks, which will probably include a video.

Thank you for the recommendation. I think it's definitely possible. We have a production schedule we mostly adhere to but when new, cool products become available... sometimes we gotta shake things up and highlight what's hot! I've passed your feedback along to our video team this morning for consideration.

11" is too deep so a riser of some sort will be required. Fortunately, they are fairly easy to make: our staff has improvised using egg crate and even Tupperware in the past.

What is the height of this skimmer "with" the cup on. Interested in hearing some more about this skimmer. Those who have one, would appreciate your opinions.

For anyone interested in this skimmer, here is a link to the review that I wrote on it. I thought I had already posted this in this thread, but I guess not.

It really depends on how you are skimming. You adjust the skimmer by raising and lowering the cup in the body of the skimmer, therefor it ranges. The height of the skimmer body only is 14". The cup is another 5.5, but always sits down into the skimmer at least 1". Therefore, I would say the absolute highest would be a total of around 18", but more realistically around 16 - 18".

Will this fit the innovative marine 25g?

No, it looks like your rear chamber is only 2.8" deep. The skimmer is 3.2", so unfortunately it will not fit.

Or an IM fusion 30L?

The skimmer's footprint is 5.9 x 3.2, so it looks like it will fit, but it would have to go in the return pump chamber. It will not fit in the skimmer/media chambers. You may also have to adjust your water height by adding/removing water to get it into the 8-10" range.(I have never used this tank, so I do not know where the water height typically is) The only issue I would mention is that with the skimmer in the return pump chamber, the water level will fluctuate with evaporation. I would suggest using a precise ATO so that it doesn't drop more than an inch or so before triggering the ATO to add RODI to the tank. Otherwise, you will not get the best performance out of the skimmer.
