The plan? Well, to learn! Hopefully grow some easy coral. And one day down the road in a few years maybe start a 60+ gallon.

Sweet rock layout! I like your setup, that's a pretty deep sand bed you have too

I kind of regret having that much sand. When I first asked my LFS what I needed, they said only two bags of sand, Then they changed to three. After I put two in, I was going to stop. But then I started reading a bunch of info about the benefits of a deep sand bed. And I figured I might as well go with what I was told.

I think it will work out. I like how it looks, but I miss the potential water I lost LOL.

Dude, you're on my budget, and your fuge light trick is brilliant. How well did it work? I think I'll try it, too.

P.S. following along.

Also, Cowboy Bebop holds a special place in my heart. I spent a lot of late Adult Swim evenings with my little sis that were just great.

Budget was a big concern. I got my 29 BC used with the stand, for about the price of just the stand new. Plus the heater and some other things came with it. Saltwater is much more expensive than Freshwater LOL.

The light has been working out well. I had to put electrical tape around the edge to help with shining back out of the tank and lighting up my living room when the lights are out. It really looks like it was designed for it LOL.

I got the light from Home Depot. The guys at my LFS were telling me all I needed was a cheap light to stick on there. I looked at some of the other DIY projects on here, and while I was impressed I didn't like them enough. So I went to Home Depot and looked around in their desk lamp section. Then I found it. It was a 20 LED clip light for $20. I knew if I bent the clip part just right, it would fit in the top hole on the BC stand and the neck would be long enough to reach where it needed.

Once it was all setup I was quite proud of myself. It and my retro light kit are the only two things I can say I came up with on my own.

I will post a pic of my chaeto. I give it a little stir once a week and when I do water changes I try to suck out any crap in it. I have a bit of what I believe is cyano algae in it as well. But it hasn't taken over the chaeto.

Cowboy Bepop is my all time favorite. Its one of those rare shows that leaves you wanting more, and I think that was part of the point. I wish any of my siblings were into it or any anime. I think they could have used it. I am not saying anime shaped my life, but it sure beats a lot of the garbage they feed kids and young adults these days.
