Fiji Pink vs. Special Grade

I've awlays been using the special grade and I like how this sand looks, vacumes easy and let's me put a Koralia Nano just 3" away from the sand bed without any problems.

I'm in the processs of building a 14" high tank and I was thinking of going for the Fiji Pink this time to change things up a bit. Some say Fiji Pink is still too fine and causes problems, some say it's the perfect sand. I'm going for a medium high flow for the most part. What do you guys suggest?

Go for what you like. I personally use the pink fiji sand and I think it looks great. Like Kat said it wont blow around after a while. Im running 800 GPH and an MP-10 cranked to the max in my tank doesnt even blow the stuff around.

My fiji pink was a sand storm until I added a layer of special grade. I also have pretty high flow. I like the looks of special grade more too.

Just my 2 cents

I like my special grade in my display. My diamond goby doesn't seem to have an issue it. But he's a sandstorm himself. I'm going oolite for a deep sand bed so can't weight in on the finer sand yet. I've heard rumors soft bellied "creatures" need finer sands but I don't entirely know what that means
