Hello,

Just got a shipment of the BRS pukani rock. I don't feel like disposing of the waste products and don't feel like dealing with killing a bunch of grass if the bucket I would use would overflow. What other "cleansing" alternatives are there out there aside from muriatic acid for this type of rock?

Thanks!

Why would you kill the grass? Just dump a bunch of baking soda into the container after you are done with it and it will neutralize the acid. After that it won't do anything.

So the waste product does not need to be discarded? I thought it needed to be taken to a local waste area or a pool supply store?

A bunch of baking soda? What is the ratio?

I just keep dumping baking soda until it stops bubbling. After that the liquid is nothing but disgusting looking water.

I dumped the stuff directly in my back yard. I didn't dump it on a grass patch directly but a dirt patch. It hasn't kept it from anything growing in the spot.

AZ you just soak in overnight and change out water/vinegar once or twice then RO/DI soak a day or two?

Muriatic acid basically melts the rock so make sure that is actually what you want to do.

Although I don't see why you want to do either with the BRS dry pukani rock. I would just wash it and maybe run a brush to it and drop it in.

Well i decided on magic acid or something to that effect, much less noxious than M.A. and "safer". Still wearing the PPE will prob only go with a further diluted wash than the 10:1 water:acid bath i've seen. Ill post results. thanks for responses.
