mozer67
What's a good brand of test kit and what should I be testing for? I'm going to have jus LR, zoa's and maybe mushrooms and only 1 fish in my 29 gal biocube. Thanks! Link to comment
VW_TDI_02
Red Sea is a good brand. The Reef Foundations kit comes with Alk, Ca, and Mg. Salifert is another good brand but it ends up being more expensive when you buy the three individually. Link to comment
seabass
For zoanthids and mushrooms, I wouldn't bother with alkalinity, calcium, or magnesium. I'd stick with an ammonia, nitrate, and phosphate test kits. I like Salifert for these, but recommend getting a Hanna Phosphorus ULR Checker for phosphate (the target is 3 to 10ppb phosphorus). You won't need to use the ammonia kit except when you add livestock, have a death, need to cure more rock, etc. Link to comment
lkoechle
I like the red sea kits. I've used seachem, api, and red sea and out of those three, I like red sea the best for ease of use. Link to comment
