aquqcrab
I'd like to know if I should still run gfo while dosing with peroxide. Or should I stop running it when dosing? Thanks Link to comment
brandon429
I would def not do both check this out gfo is already hard enough to tune, and by design if its working no peroxide is needed http://www.thereeftank.com/forums/f6/could-gfo-be-affecting-my-sps-229023.html this shows how early gfo balancing is its own beast. Don't use high alk w new gfo Link to comment
Bingo1213
I agree stop GFO if you're using peroxide but I would like to say that i have great results with GFO ONLY if I dose fuel on a daily basis. I dose vodka in addition to my GFO and I have found that the loss of color associated with the drop in phosphates can be contracted by adding an amino acid supplement such as Fuel. Now I have better coral colors (and growth) than ever before. Without nitrates or phosphates present you need to add some sort of nutrients for the corals to thrive off of. Then do need more than just light and when all other nutrients are removed additional supplementation is required. That being said my corals are much happier to have coral food in the water as apposed to phosphates and nitrates. Link to comment
