I wanna try Acroporas and want to start with the easy ones!

I want to buy my first Acropora, but would like to start with the easy ones, like the title says. It would be for my 10G fusion and a minitide for lighting. I have been able to keep montis, birds nests and encrusting corals with no issues for years. Thanks!

Hey Nanoman :)

I have a nice purple bottlebrush that has been bullet proof that I can give you a frag of. I also had great success with the green bali slimer as well as a blue staghorn. I know longer have those colonies due to trading them but they were also very harder and super fast growers for me.

+1 to a slimer. I've had good success with my deepwater acro as well but they are super slow growers compared to other acros.

Ive been scared to try my hand at any deep waters. Are they hard to acclimate to LED's?

Mine is right at the top next to my slimer, still has the same color as when I bought it from the shop. It only shows PE at nights (they are very tiny) but it is the slowest grower of all my SPS. I know some deepwater can not be acclimated to higher lighting and need to stay lower in the tank but mine seems to do fine. In fact my table acro and monti cap bleached/faded somewhat when I had my lights at 80/70 for about a week but this deepwater never lost color.

That is very encouraging! I am going to have to give them a try.

My slimer's been doing well for me and so has a random blue acro I have. They had rough starts in the tank. Both popped off the plugs and spent about 20 minutes out of the water getting reglued. In about 3 weeks or so, the blue has encrusted over the plug and the slimer has almost totally encrusted over the dead skeleton (died from traumatic treatment) and is close to encrusting over the base. So, in my book, they seem pretty forgiving so far :P

Pink Jade is bulletproof too. I've had em stung by aptasia, other sticks touching them, and the list goes on, and it has survived. I would be willing to donate a frag. You're not to terribly far from me, I'm in Texarkana.
