Green BTA not moving?

I got a green BTA recently. I put him in a spot that I really like, moderate flow and lighting. He seems to look really happy and hasn't been moving around at all. He also has been eating and opening up very nicely. How long does it usually take for them to move around or do you think that he will stay put?

Honestly, nems can move at any time if they dont like where they are or if they just want to take a joyride around the tank, but that's just me playing devil's advocate right there haha. Being serious now, if you've had the nem for atleast a week or two with it being in the same spot without moving, then I would say that you're safe until you change how aggressive/passive the flow is, lighting, or even the amount of food it's able to get.

I just read they will sometimes take a joy ride. Hopefully it will stay, he's in a awesome spot! I use a jeabo WM and go from w1 to else mode to change the flow pattern every once in a while. Might make him move? I have noticed he will blow up much better in wave1 mode. Thank you for the input. Enjoying the BTA alot!

Mine hasn't moved from the same rock now for two years. I've moved it multiple times and now it's temporarily housed in my ten gallon. It is very happy in that rock and I don't think he's going to be giving it up anytime soon. If he found a spot that he likes, he'll probably stay put. Mine absolutely loves the sway of a jeabo pump. I use them on my 75g and in my 10g.

Ive been luck as well, Ive had mine for close to a year, hasnt moved more than an inch in that time. Even with a tank swap, multiple light changes, flow changes, and having his rock removed several time to address pest issues. Consider yourself lucky and let em be.

That's good news! I'm using the wp10 for my ten gallon. I put him on a rock standing straight up almost like a cliff. If he keeps looking this happy I don't think i'm going to switch to else mode in fear that he might take a walk. They are awesome little critters. Hopefully my clown will host.

That makes me feel good thanks for the exp.

Here's a pic I took before I i went out for a bit today. The big guy on top of the small nem island hasn't moved since being introduced months ago. Come home to find it on the back side of the island outta view. I did bump my intensity up 5% last week to 30% on my gen 3 pro tho. Sucks cause it's not like I can just move it back. I guess if it can move it will move, just a matter of time.

That's a nice tank man any luck with your clowns hosting? I added my BTA before I really stocked much besides a favia brain and some GSP on a island in fear that it would wonder and sting others. I don't see me changing lighting or anything like that for a while. If I do it will be a swap to a bigger tank when fully stocked.

Very cool little tank! I'm also using the wp10 in a ten gallon. I recently posted a video to youtube showing off my anemone crab grabbing zooplankton from the water column from inside my bubble tip. I posted a link of it on my 10g thread. They are awesome little pumps and work just fine for what they're intended for.

And whats a good recommended area I should keep clear around the BTA so I don't place other corals to close?

Hmmm I guess if my clown don't host I could always go for a crab! That would be pretty cool.

First understand that the bta has a potential of growing huge so give it ample room but I've also found with less direct feedings it can slow their growth down somewhat.

My female frolics in them before my lights turn on at noon but once the light turns on the fun stops. Had an anemone crab that hosted which was nice. Been thinking about some sexy shrimp in hopes for a better host.

The female clown in my tank and the crab both split the rent on that one! I have more bta's but my clownfish only choose to host that one in particular. I didn't plan on having all three of my clowns in a single ten gallon but the fish would freak if I split them up. Besides the waste makes a good food source for my large maxima I have taken up space in there.
