Caravanshaka
Hi All, this tank has been up since June, but thought I would throw this build on here first as i setup my new fusion 10 for the office: Tank is built between my office and dining room. It's not physically attached to the wall, but the stand has a 4" overhang that rests on the 12" header I had my builder put in at 40" high in the wall. Dining room side is only be a picture frame around the tank, while the office side will have cabinetry with removable faces (magnets) Main Details: Tank and Sump were built by Concept Aquariums out of Canada. Surprisingly, even after shipping, they had the best pricing and everyone I have read that has a tank from them raves about their quality. http://www.conceptaquariums.ca/index.php/custom-aquariums/custom-aquariums.html Tank: 60x30x25, starphire front and back panes, 3" eurobracing, external overflow on the 30" side Sump: 48x22x16, 4 chambers (Sump, Fuge, Frags, Return)...note that the pics show a 55" long sump, but decided I didn't need that much room, so take the 7" out of the middle Stand is a 1.5" square steel frame built by a DFWMAS member Other Equipment: Lighting is an 8x80w ATI Sunpower fixture modified to run 6 bulbs plus 6 Nanobox V3 arrays and 6 Luxeon M Blues 2 MP40's and a Gyre 150 for flow 2 Jebao DC6000 return pumps, both T'd off for reactors and a water change outlet SR Octopus Prime 200 skimmer dual BRS reactors for carbon/gfo as needed BRS dosers and BRS 2-part Apex controller with dual EB8's, EB4, breakout box, and auto-feeder BRS Fiji and Pukani dry rock Surrounding the tank is some home built cabinet frames, with LED cabinet lighting on a switch on the american DJ panel. The entire cabinet frame has been coated in a generous coating of Kilz primer, and the side of the cabinetry that faces the tank will see that treatment as well. I covered the drywall from the tank down with a plastic sheeting to protect it from splashes. I will also added venting to the top of the cabinets with 4 120mm fans to push/pull air. I have also recently added an acrylyc 24x20x10 frag tank on the shelf on the left side of the cabinetry. it is fed by gravity from one of the drains on the main tank, and has a gyre130 for flow, and a 150w halide for lighting for now. Here are some pictures: Final Sump Design: View from my front door as you walk in: frame in place: Close up of right side with DJ switch panel and lighting on: Progress being made: Tank has arrived!: Lets just get to what it looks like now: and a quick shot of the guts of my ATI while I was retrofitting it with nanobox pucks: Link to comment
najluni15
Great looking build! The aquascape looks great and pretty natural. I like the open water at the top of the tank. Any plans for schooling fish? I saw an anthias in one picture but how many do you have? Link to comment
