Removed my optics now what?

So I have essentially this light fixture http://reefradiance.com/dm-165e.html(mine is the 132e which has only 44 bulbs, the product page is not working right now). I removed all the optics to get a more even light spread and now have the light about 3-4" above the water. I'm not sure what to keep the %s at now on my light. Before it was at 80% actinic max and 50% white max at 12" above the water and all my corals did fine except my ricordea toward the edge of my tank were starting to cup and stretch for the light (hence another reason I removed the optics). Anyone with any experience with BridgeLux LEDs or this light fixture please chime in on what values you think may be appropriate to start with (right now they are at 40% actinic 20% white).

They're actually EpiLEDs.

Your values look good to me. You could probably bump it up more since you didn't really lower the light a whole lot and you removed the optics.

Thanks. I bumped them up to 70/40 since this most closely resembles the brightness from before I removed the optics. Just curious though as to why you say they are EpiLED when the website says the manufacturer is BridgeLux?

Bridgelux only makes green and blue 3 watt LEDs. Everything else they do is arrays.

The 3 watt chips they make are typically sold to Chinese companies such as EpiLEDs who will alter them with phosphor coats so they're no longer bridgelux products.

The blue, royal blue, and green might be genuine bridgelux chips but the white are phosphor coated blues and the violets and reds are certainly not bridgelux chips.I think reef radiance also uses an orange led that is also an EpiLED.

The name bridgelux is with more than EpiLEDs too.

Ahh that makes a lot of sense now. I think I'm going to just have to move my mushrooms though (not really sure where I have room though). They are still cupping with my lights at 85/55 and I have heard ricordea florida may want high intensity lighting so I'll see if moving them directly under the light has any affect.

That might help.

Turned lights down to 60/30 and they stopped cupping...I'm officially confused. Testing how they like 70/30.
