Firefly4
Hey guys. I just set up my tank about a month ago and I just saw a really purplish grey bristle worm crawl out of a hole in my live rock, I know they are helpful, but to be honest it freaks me out. Is it safe/can I remove it easily? Link to comment
emu1sive
Yes, they definitely can be. There is the soda bottle trap, panty hose, tweezer methods which can all be found with the search tool. I was not to be bothered with any of that and when I saw that he moved to the little rock in my tank ditched the whole rock. They are a great part of your cleanup crew. In my opinion they should only be removed if they are too big for your tank or there are too many. Link to comment
FlowerMama
If it bothers you that much put a little food out then turn off the light and grab it in the middle with some big tweezers/forceps. Link to comment
Firefly4
At first I thought it was small, but I just went back to take a look and it is almost four inches long... And has little red bristle as well as white ones. I will definitely take a look into removal methods. I have just a little JBJ picotope. It's the biggest thing in there! Link to comment
emu1sive
Sounds like a good call based on the size Link to comment
amphipod
Why are so many freaked out by worms? Yours is pretty cool and it'd be a shame to kill it in my opinion. They are also pretty fun when they eat from tweezers, but they have to get to know you first. Link to comment
