seabass
So one of my rock flower anemones went on walkabout a few weeks ago. One day I couldn't see it anymore. I assumed that it was under a rock. So today I found it in the AquaClear fuge (seemingly unharmed). It went through the intake screen and somehow didn't get chewed up by the impeller. Anyways, glad it's fine. Link to comment
CronicReefer
Well that is quite an adventure for that anemone to say the least. Apparently it wants more greens in its life Link to comment
jedimasterben
No, it could not have gone through the impeller, there is no way. It climbed up the output of it, like this: Link to comment
seabass
Yeah, it definitely didn't go through the impeller (but I think it might be possible to make it through the tube without actually passing through the impeller). I figured it let go and got sucked up into the intake. However, since I didn't see it happen, I suppose it's also possible that it made it up the overflow (I often fill the tank high enough for the overflow's lip to touch the waterline). Either way, it's kind of weird that it safely made it in there. Link to comment
seabass
OK, looks like it actually did get hit by the impeller. I got a surprise when I looked closer. The main anemone. Another piece of the anemone on the bottom. We'll see how/if it heals. Looks pretty good, all things considered. Link to comment
seabass
The anemone decided to move closer to the impeller.I removed both anemones. They were both firmly attached to the filter, but came off without any problems. They both seem to be in relatively good health. Link to comment
Halo_003
I thought you couldn't split them? By cutting I mean. Link to comment
seabass
I thought you couldn't split them? By cutting I mean. Mine seem to reproduce sexually well enough, so I've never bothered to experiment; but I assumed that as well. Apparently it's possible. Maybe they don't do well with being cut in half, but do better with a smaller section removed. Maybe I'll try that someday (I have plenty of them). Link to comment
