questions on JBJ 28 hood (quad bulb style) - Picture added!

Sorry for the cross post but I thought maybe someone might know here. I picked up a used JBJ 28 quad for a song and I'm excited to get it up and running. My plans are to gut the hood and put in a rapid LED kit.

Here's the thing, the last owner wasn't using the hood and gave it to me separately and I can't figure out how it attaches. Where do the hooks go? Am I missing something that covers the very back compartment? I tried searching for pictures online but came up short. Help!

It looks like you are missing the back part. The hood just snaps into place with a push motion into those latches. Why would he remove that? Honestly, I would get a nanobox duo and just call it a day. That way, if you upgrade to a bigger tank down the line, you could just transfer the light over. I did a rapid led retro on my NC 28G and it was pretty easy, but I should have just gotten a better light instead.

He didn't have to remove that back part in order to remove the hood, so it's incomplete. It looks like you might need another hood or just do what I said. Good luck.

Here is a picture of the inside of my 28NC, you can see the hinge that is screwed into the back wall, on the display tank side. The top part of the picture is the inside of my lid. The part on your lid just snaps into it. If you see two small holes on each side of the back rim the previous owner more than likely removed the hinges. They probably removed the collapsing legs that prop the lid up as well, they are on the sides of the top ridge.

The hood snaps into the clips attached to the molding on the tank body, as pictured above.

There is no rear cover for the filtration, it is left open.

I misinterpreted the picture! Yeah, like the previous person stated: it looks like the previous owner removed the plastic hinges where the hood snaps into place. Thanks for catching that Stevie.

To be more clear, you are missing this :

Sorry for using your pic, but it made it easier to explain.

Don't worry about it too much. I've never even run the tank live and one is busted. Yet the hood was on and off a lot. The orginal biocubes never came with hinges.
