Are these guys Majanos?

Quick question - I have four hitchiker nems that came along with my LR. Originally I had three, but one of them split into two quite recently. I feed them fairly regularly and keep them since they typically stay put and don't seem to sting anything.

But I have one question - are all four of these nems Majanos?

Nem 1:

Pink mouth and centre, green tips. The body is bright pink with bright green spots when the nem closes up. Arrived half the size of a pea, now roughly the size of a pinky fingernail once fully expended. Has split once.

Nem 2:

Light pink all around with pink bubble tips. Mouth is also pink - roughly the size of a giant pea. Tentacles are short and stubby.

Nem 3:

Dark purple with initially green tips, which have now become white tips. Purple center. Has a white pedal disc/base when the nem closes. Was given to me by a friend who claimed it initially roamed about his tank before settling down in a circular, porous piece of LR. Hasn't moved since I acquired it. Roughly the size of a 50 cent coin.

Would love some opinions on this, since I need to know if these guys pose a threat. So far they don't, but I know they can.

All nems are regularly fed mysis, crab roe, freeze-dried plankton, reef roids, chopped squid/shrimp or cyclops.

Sorry bout that didn't even read the descriptions... I had a tank about 4 years ago that broke out in manjos... Tried pretty much everything to off them! Nothing worked! Just gave up on the tank.. And two years ago I had a buddy lose a tank to them.... Tried the manjo wand, but just mad it worse... went with a file fish and actually helped but after he took the fish out they came back so he gave up on that tank... So I'm not 100% positive there not but I've seen my share of manjos and they def don't look like that... I'd take them out of my tank just to be safe! But that's just me... Cause if you see one manjo more then likely there's more! And there no fun! Good luck tho! HAPPY REEFING

Nope! Had those to tho... And I have aiptasia in my tank now lol...those are the manjo I had and my friend had

For Manajos those look pretty neat, kinda reminds me of Strawberry Anemone or Corynactis.

I don't think those are Majano..They look really cool though!

First picture looks like flower nems to me.

Thank you. I've decided to keep them. My LFS has a few hitchiker ball nems on a caulerpa colony which look gorgeous as well - I was wondering if I should genuinely pick them up.

They all look like manjano to me. Color will vary on them.

Not everything that looks like a majano is a majano. They could easily be some sort of uncommon Indo-Pacific nem or just a general hitchiker. Which is why I asked if anyone knew for certain they were majanos in the first place.

For now, I think I'll keep them and observe them. If they become too much of a problem, then I could get rid of them.

Do your white ball anemones glow bright green in the blue light? I know there not aiptasia...

They do pack a bit of a sting but shouldn't kill the zoanthids but I'd watch just to make sure. Warm water corynactis don't spread as quickly as their coldwater counter part (aka strawberry anemones) or at least they don't in my experience.

Snow phoenix where are you located? I'd love one of the nems in the first photo if you ever choose to share them or want to get rid of them.

Let's say I have a Majano but it's on an island and it looks pretty cool. Keep it or blast it with a jet lighter?

you can keep it, they can behave. But if it starts making a bunch of babies you can pluck them, I hear true majanos can be manually removed quite easily if you are very gentle, I have yet to get majanos to try it on.

Unfortunately I'm located in Malaysia, so I'm most likely out of your way. :(

Otherwise I wouldn't mind giving you one. :)

Yeah, I've decided to keep them. I'm still debating if I should pick up the grape caulerpa frag I saw at my LFS that had these two gorgeous ball nems attached to it. Problem is getting rid of the caulerpa itself.
