LilCope
Hi all,So this has been a topic I have been seeing all over the place. For my senior project my group has decided to look into this topic to make it a case study. From what I understand: There is a possibility that the EU ( are there any others? U.S? ) is going to put a ban on trade on ornamental fish and inverts ( are there any other (e.g., live rock, sand, etc.)). Information that I am look for is:1.) Where did this originate from and why? 2.) Where is it in terms of being enforced? ( I have heard that it is just going to be mentioned at a conference.. which is not a big deal..? )Any information you have would be awesome - especially in terms of the U.SThe following are links on this topic: ( if there any any conflictions with posting links let me know. seuadr
Seems like once a year or so this gets discussed. There are several petitions etc floating around on various reef forums from several different years... Link to comment
LilCope
Likely due to lobby groups pushing and it never being addressed at the meetings/conventions. However, do you have any knowledge on this topic? Link to comment

LilCope
Thank you.It seems this is a lot larger than I thought with further research . It looks like Hawaii has put in a ban for trade, and some local US states want to ban "exotic pets" as well. Link to comment
