be careful using that as a stand I had a bad experience with my 20g on a ikea dresser

I have had numerous tanks on these particular shelves and haven't had any issues at all(so far). That said, I am going to build a new stand for it in the future, as we are working on transitioning our living room away from all black furniture.

Was it the same shelf you had a problem with, or was it something else? You have me worried..

The scape looks good, you'll love the tank when it's filled. I'm impressed with the quality of mine.

I am really impressed with the build quality on this tank for sure. I inspected a bunch of the available AIOs at the LFS and the IM tanks definitely have a lot more attention to detail in the construction(wew... that was a lot of acronyms).

I managed to get it filled, but not without some tribulation. I really like fiji pink sand, but I couldn't find it locally dry. I am personally not a big fan of live sand( I am happy waiting for the sand to become live..) - but I went ahead and bought the caribsea fiji pink arag-alive sand. In hindsight I should have ordered it dry and just waited.. I poured the bag into the tank and started to fill it very slowly, and there was a LOT of white super fine dust in the bag suspended it the liquid. I've used sands that cloud the tank before, but this was on another level. Looked like someone had dumped a bottle of baby powder into my tank, seemed to be causing this weird thick white foam to build up in the overflow chambers, and after a few days still hadn't cleared at all.

Sooo.. I drained the tank, rinsed the sand thoroughly in RODI water, and refilled the tank. Yay.. that was fun :)

I was also a little unimpressed with the stock pump's flow, so I swapped it out for the MJ1200(per some suggestions from other members here). Very nice flow, and a lot quieter than the stock pump.

Now it's a waiting game to get this thing cycled.

Obligatory rocks, sand, water, and glass shot.

Very cool. You'll love the tank. Yes, the stock pumps suck. I changed mine for an MJ1200 as well and flow is great. I'll be following.

Yeah I originally planned on running two mj900 pumps,Turns out that's a little too much flow and I got micro bubbles. One mj1200 is about perfect.

Got my Tunze Nano ATO in today and installed. I am really impressed with how easy it was to setup. I really dig their magnet design with the rubber ring against the glass to keep it from moving.. well thought out like the rest of their products I suppose. It will definitely be nice not having to manually keep tabs on evap.. since it's only been a few days and I am already sick of topping off :D. I will probably cut a glass top for it to see if I can lower the evap even more. Effort in the name of laziness!

I also got a pair of custom caddy baskets in, and in hindsight, I should have ordered the inTank ones instead(he was out of stock when I ordered everything, was being impatient). These custom caddy baskets are definitely a step up in terms of media capacity, but they are not particularly well made. For instance(for those of you who are considering these) the wall that slides out is retained by a channel on either side. The wall isn't actually held into the channel until it's about half way installed, as the walls that the channels are cut in are too wide near the top.. as in, not squarely bonded together .

I'll probably end up with the inTank baskets and chuck these custom caddies up on the classified section after a while. For now they will do.

Well, this tank ended as quickly as it began.. my just landlord stopped in just to chat and made a funny face when she saw the tank setup. She eventually told me that she didn't feel great about having aquariums over 10 gallons. Apparently some smart guy had a larger tank in one of the upstairs bedrooms and it caused some serious damage(she even pointed out a patch in our ceiling that I always wondered about). Someone always has to ruin it for everyone :( I am pretty good friends with the landlord and family, but I don't really want to piss them off by arguing the point. I also didn't ask first, so I suppose it's on me. :(

In any case I managed to find someone locally to pick this up, so the plan is now to do a pico.

I hate to directly copy someones gear selection, but I really dig Angel<3Nanos 5.4 aquatop setup. That's what I am aiming for.
