annieNY
Having trouble uploading a picture, but my plate was very neglected and looked bony and dead, except for the mouth. About 2 weeks pass and I think it has some weird growths, but today notice there are about 40+ babies, mostly on the plate but some just off of it on the sand. Any idea what's going on? The plate itself looks awful but the mouth is a vibrant purple. Thanks for any feedback. If I can figure out how to make the file smaller and upload a picture, I will. Thanks again. Link to comment
Psychosis
It's a survival response, basically the original plate expended the last of its energy on offshoots. They can actually continue to produce for years, a free self fragging plate factory. Awesome stuff. Link to comment
Victor1977
To bad for the old plate. But now you have more then you know what to do with. I want one lol . Link to comment
amphipod
Many polyps do that under stress, heck that's even one of the reasons aiptasia can spread quickly in some aquariums, sending hundreds of babies to continue the species after the main adult is stressed bad or injured. Link to comment
