bntv
I was wondering what you guys would suggest for a nano standard 10 gallon (20 inch long), looking to grow mostly lps however would like to have the option to have SPS too. I've been out of the hobby for 4 years now and am not sure whats the best lighting is for my case. Would prefer under $150. I would like some suggestions also would this light work?http://www.amazon.com/Current-USA-Marine-Aquarium-24-Inch/dp/B00GFTK7CQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1426983998&sr=8-2&keywords=led+reef+lighting Quote Link to comment

Sancho
The AI Prime $199 . The above mentioned Reefbreeders are great for the money. The Current USA that you are looking at has nice features but according to a Current USA employee it was designed for LPS. The Reefbreeders and Reefradiance are rebranded Chinese LED's nothing wrong with them but with some looking you can get them from China on Ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/331500563394. Try to find a US seller that has lots of good reviews. I have ordered from China with good results you just have to be very patient when it comes to shipping usually 2 weeks to a month but you can save some money. If you want a great light look at the Kessil 160we $239. Or the Nano Box. I saw the AI Prime at a trade show and is is a nice light for the $199 but I still have not got one yet so I cant give you an opinion on it. The lighting is probably going to be your most expensive part of your tank. Put the tank off for a bit save some more cash and get a proper light. That will save you money in the long run. 1 Quote Link to comment

bntv
Thanks for the response. At this point I'm leaning towards the 20x3 warr LED, I'm in no rush to get it so China is not a problem. However I'm still open to suggestions if anyone else wants to chime in. in the mean time what do you guys think about this RO/DI unit? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GJCE2X4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ABOVZO9SHL944 Is it alright? I am also open to suggestions on rodi units. Thanks! Quote Link to comment

I would pay a little more for a refurbished Spectrapure, which also comes with a hose adapter. http://spectrapure.com/RO-RODI/RODI-SYSTEMS 1 Quote Link to comment

Sancho
Again like the LED's most if not all ro di units are made in China. The Spectra Pure, BRS, MLEVS are all basically the same unit. I can go on and on with others that have re branded a RO DI as there own. Find one that suites your needs and is in your price range. I have a reef and drinking water unit I picked up from amazon. no name brand but the price was right. I used the diragram from buckeye hydro to set it up. The unit you are looking at on amazon uses small filters I would go with something that uses the standard canisters you will find replacement media for the unit you are looking at can get expensive. 1 Quote Link to comment

Pattycdef
I only have zoanthids and a plate coral its great for soft corals but might be a little weak for sps try kessil Quote Link to comment
VW_TDI_02
I would not recommend the Current fixture if you want to do SPS. It's a great light for LPS and soft corals but I wouldn't bother with SPS corals with this light. Reef breeders or some other chinese panel from Amazon would work just fine. More than enough light and could be used on a larger tank if you decide to upgrade. Quote Link to comment
vuqchu
I'm using the Kessil 160WE on a 10g Nuvo Fusion tank. Saw the promo video for the AI Prime light and I'm tempted to try it out. Looks like it packs a whole lot of nice features for $199 Quote Link to comment
Seth fhy
Check out the ocean revive arctic t247, rn it is 199 but I got it for 150 while they were having a sale. I don't have any sps yet but will be soon. Quote Link to comment
bntv
I went with the 20x3 watt led from china. Thanks for the help guys! Quote Link to comment
ps2cho
For a 10g tank, I'd just keep it cheap and get a PAR38 bulb. Quote Link to comment
VW_TDI_02
Any chance you have a link to the fixture you got? Quote Link to comment
jlangtree
Coral Flare Max series of lights, on a cheap goose-neck. Cant get better value for money, and will be fine for Softies and easy to keep LPS in anything up to a 18 inch cube. I don't know where you would find them in the US, but here is a link to them in Australia: http://www.naqua.com.au/products/coral-flare-max-iii-full-spectrum-par38-reef-lamp Quote Link to comment
sde1500
Just started a tank a few weeks ago, same size as yours. CoralLife 20 inch T5 cost me around 130 I believe. Quote Link to comment
Mhcblues119
I love my reef breeders nano-lite. Will grow anything i put under it and its only at about 50% blues and 30% whites Quote Link to comment
Odobenus rosmarus
I have a 120 watt full spectrum Chinese LED for my 10 gallon. It was $95 plus shipping and handling and tax which came out to about $140 and honestly for the price, I couldn't ask for a better light. It works perfect for my 10 gallon, it has adjustable nobs for blues and whites and comes with a good hanging kit. I have happy LPS and SPS corals in my tank. Quote Link to comment
porkchop-rob
Ai prime. 200 bucks...done. LOL Quote Link to comment

That's almost 50% of the cost of the light itself! Quote Link to comment
