TheKingInYellow
The tank is in my sig and I'm thinking it needs a little more light than the 4 x 1w LED fixture on it at the moment. I'm only keeping softies, but if I could keep some really low-light SPS up high (monti cap) I wouldn't be upset. The display is only 12" L x 6" W and there is only about 6" - 8" of water to the sandbed. I was thinking a PAR38 fixture but I think that's even overkill. Something that will sit on tank legs or will clip to the side would be ideal since I have a HOB on the back of the tank. Ideas? Link to comment
da1001
Best and most affordable light would be something like: http://coralcompulsion.com/led/PAR-BULBS/led-21w-18k Probably that and a Lowe's light fixture like this: http://www.lowes.com/pd_62582-47842-17794-000_4294798229__?productId=3175567&Ns=p_product_qty_sales_dollar|1&pl=1¤tURL=%3FNs%3Dp_product_qty_sales_dollar|1&facetInfo= That one sits on a stand but you can find clip on ones etc. too That would be my 2 cents. Reefkid88
Really, nothing is overkill lol its just what looks best and what's in your budget, you could use a Radion or ect. A par38 would be really nice. Or if you want more than enough light,Coral Compulsion has the G2 par38 that's 35w 4 clusters and dimmable. My LFS has them over their frag tank and everything looks awesome. Even hung at about 24"+ it keeps sps no problem at all. Link to comment
TheKingInYellow
I grabbed a cheap eBay PAR30 and a architect-style swingarm lamp from Walmart to try it out. If it fits the space well, I'll upgrade to a Coral Compulsion or BoostLED PAR30, I don't think this fixture will handle the weight of a PAR38. Link to comment
