Jtbarber
I was feeding my corals some shrimp and I noticed these two worms extend out of my live rock. One seem interested in a shrimp that had fallen near him and then they both retracted back into the rock. Is this a bristle shrimp? Are they ok to have in my tank? I have searched online have gotten mixed reviews. Link to comment
jamescstein
Yeah looks like a bristle worm. The big question is how do you feed? Are you a habitual over feeder or an under feeder. They can be your friend and a good addition to your cleanup crew if you tend to feed heavy. But they can bother corals and inverts if you under feed. Just like hermits and peppermint/cleaner shrimp. I feed my clowns pellets once every 2 days and my corals mysis shrimp once a week at most. The tank is 5 gallons is about 4 months old. I'm thinking I might need to get them out of there. My corals consist of a hammer, a hitchhiker ricordia, and a Zoa frag I got today. I just don't want them munching on my corals. Link to comment
amphipod
After 4 months and no problems you are fine, they would have acted within the first few weeks of starvation against your corals. Its obvious they are getting enough food Link to comment
