jtgrimes Posted March 20, 2015 Share Posted March 20, 2015 Hey all! I currently run a 12 gallon reef, with having no skimmer I change out one gallon of water every three days. I currently dose two part and mag (each 2ml a day). I also have a media bag of phosguard and carbon in the back chambers. All levels seem to be doing great. I am interested to see what others do on similar systems when it comes to water changes etc. Is 10% change every three days to much? Should I be doing 20% once a week instead? yomon347 Posted March 20, 2015 Share Posted March 20, 2015 Your schedule seems fine. I do 20% weekly on my 20g without a skimmer running phosguard and carbon in a hob. If I am working on the tank I'll sometimes do a 20% WC Friday, Saturday and Sunday. As long as the parameters and temperature match and the water is mixed several hours before the change (24 ideally) there is no issue. Link to comment
