TheKingInYellow
I'm planning on adding a little Kalk to my top up water when I get the DB18 up and running, and I was just going to put the Osmolator pump right into the Kalkwasser in my ATO container. However, it looks like there a bunch of Kalk reactors/stirrers out there. Is any of this needed? Is there any problem with just dumping the pump right into the Kalkwasser? Link to comment
kwsjimmy
All depends on how much kalk you run. Link to comment
vuqchu
I would not recommend throwing the pump inside the container with kalk unless you want to rinse it down regularly. The kalk build up will shorten the life of the pump big time. Link to comment
BuckeyeFish
I've run an osmolator for years with kalk in the ATO (doing it now) and the key thing is to make sure that the pump doesn't sit on the bottom of the ATO tank. That way it doesn't suck up the kalk sediment. I never regularly clean the pump but would occasionally soak in vinegar for a bit just like any other pump maintenance. As a back up just get another pump as a spare if you're worried. They're cheap. Link to comment
TheKingInYellow
Good call, I can build a riser out of PVC and/or egg crate in the ATO container. Link to comment
