As the Cycle went along i was excited to see pods crawling around the front glass. As everyone goes through the diatoms and long green hair algea, i hope, i picked up a CUC.

CUC:

  • Astrea Snail
  • Mexican Turbo Snail
  • 2 Blue electric Hermit crabs.

One of the Blue Hermit Crab Twins

Today i went to my LFS and picked up a small firefish i was excited to get my water tested and everything was fine. Except haha always something my ph level was at 7.8 and needed to be bumped to the 8.3 range so i got some reef buffer to pick up my ph level.
I believe once i start feeding the fish and do water changes should keep my ph level around 8.2 area i will keep a close eye on it. Anyways please let me know your opions and comments i'm an open guy that loves to share knowledge with the world.:lol::)

Lookin good!

Thank You Rob. still working on it just taking it slowly like the rule of thumb i keep reading.

I forgot to mention that i also got Corals from a close friend and as you can see with Spartacus i have the following:

Corals:

  • 3 branch Kenya Tree
  • Green Star Polys (GSP)
  • Mushroom rock (on the right of the tank)
  • Pulsing Xenia

Make sure to put a piece of plexiglass or something w/ some holes drilled in for gas exchange and to prevent him from jumping out. I'd take some rock out too. He's not going to have much place to swim once the corals grow. Be careful w/ Xenia, it being cut back or dying can release toxins into the water.

Thank you for the Advice Flowermama,

Im going to get a glass cover made from a guy i know and will try to make drilled holes as you advice. For now im letting the corals roam. Once they're too big i will give them to Craigslist or something haha im looking for a zoa, acans, blastos reef tank.

This Morning i decided to take detailed pics with my phone of the corals. Enjoy :wub::)

Ok So this weekend i got some new corals for my Pico. The tank is doing awesome. Sparatacus has found a spot in the cave to hide and sleep in. As you can see he's not there lol. He comes out when no one is around that little ninja haha. More to come. Enjoy(:

Little tanks are fun and have easy upkeep. I'm recreating my Evolve8. I'm giving my sps to a friend and I moved my maxima clam to my 34 today so I'll make it a frogspawn, gsp, mushroom tank.

My Evolve 8 in my signature, that's the one that will be slightly changing. My friend is giving me some ricordeas in return. I used to have them in that tank and they loved the bottom of it. GSP is mostly covering the back wall and some front rocks now. I'll also take out the 4-5 mushrooms I have in my mantis Gertie's tank and throw them in there too. And a frogspawn from my 34 to go w/ one I already have in the 8. So, it'll be a frogspawn, gsp, mushroom tank and I'll have to get some fish in there for some daily doses of nitrate since mushrooms like it dirty. But that's what's nice about little tanks, you can change them up more easily, every 2 yrs if you want to try something slightly different.

Fighting a bit of Cyano bacteria but doing my best to clean my tank and keep up with it. My corals are growing slowly but seem happy. My Hammer has grown a lot and soon will be moving him to my 50gal. For now let the show go on.:D

That cute creature by your zoas may be a zoa eating nudibranch, not so cute anymore. Research in google image and see if that's what you have but I also noticed the zoas are closing so might be.

I've never personally seen one but research it for sure. And research also about egg laying. I heard they do that too. You may want to take your zoa out and put it in Revive or something.
