lefty99
I am planning on building a aio tank peninsula style. Just curious on where most people get their supplies. Where can I find majority of the fittings and the false wall Link to comment
VW_TDI_02
The false wall is usually made out of acrylic. You usually buy this at your local Lowe's/Home Depot. You can also make this out of glass and just silicone it in. I'm not really sure what fittings you will need. A lot of people use loc-line which you can get off of either BRS or even Amazon. BRS has a great selection of fittings but I don't think anyone can tell you much more without knowing how you will set it up. Link to comment
lefty99
My setup is pretty much a 5.5 gal with the basic design of three chambers. I have an I deal of how to do its just that I don't know where people get their materials from. But I'll check out home Depot for sure. Also Ive seen people use the clear acrylic and then paint it black, well which paint is aquarium safe? Link to comment
VW_TDI_02
I would look at getting actual black acrylic. Saltwater will probably eat away at anything over time and paint flakes in a tank aren't a good idea. I know my local Lowe's has an acrylic cutting station where they will even cut it for you. lefty99
Thank. That's what I thought but I keep seeing others painting it. I would assume its easier to just use black acrylic Link to comment
VW_TDI_02
Painting stuff inside of the tank?? Normally people paint the outer part of the back panel and that's it. Please post anything you may find. Link to comment
bked
eBay. Find acrylic sheets sold by Pops Displays. They are cheap and will cut to size. You'll want 1/4" thickness. Link to comment
